The Cactus Garden features an indoor collection of exotic cactus plants of uncommon beauty and rarely seen elsewhere in Korea, with a variety of new concepts introduced each year.
There are more than 200 types or “genera” of cactus, and although there are different approaches to their taxonomical classification, all are members of the succulent plant family, the Cactaceae. Thanks to their high water-retention ability, cacti can survive in hot, arid areas for long periods. Instead of leaves, spines grow from areoles which form the stalk of cacti. The shapes of the stalks vary from tube- and bell-to wheel-shaped, and are unlike any other plants.
