    Incheon International Airport rated world's best airport for 2 consecutive years

    Selected 1st place in four categories, voted best among 86 world hubs
     
     

    Korea’s Incheon International Airport(IIAC) has been named “Best Airport Worldwide” for two consecutive
    years according to the announcement at a special awards ceremony held at 2006 ACI (Airports Council
    International) Airport Service Quality Conference in Dubai on March 12th (local time).

    The announcement is based on the result of the latest passenger surveys administered annually by ACI.
    A total of 86 airports worldwide were voted in 32 survey areas, including facility convenience and staff
    courtesy, during all four quarters of 2006.

    The ASQ survey has been administered by IATA (International Air Transport Association) since 1993 and
    jointly led by ACI since 2004. Since last year, ACI has offered a new program under its name to the most
    authorized measuring system for airport services. The ASQ result has been regarded as a barometer for
    airport services and technologies in each country.

    IIAC was named Best Airport Worldwide for 2005 and 2006 consecutively, securing firmly its position as
    a top-rated airport service provider in the world. IIAC’s remarkable performance was achieved in a fierce
    competition with worldwide top airports.

    At this year’s ceremony, IIAC dominated the Airport Service Excellence Awards for 2006 by winning four
    awards in 13 categories, including the benchmark Best Airport Worldwide. The other three are Best Airport
    in Asia-Pacific, Best Airport (Over 25 million to 40 million passengers per year) and Regional Airport People
    Awards. The airport gained all of the first place titles in its eligible categories, achieving the recognition as
    the best provider of airport services around the world.

    IIAC has implemented a service upgrade program since 2003 when it kicked off a pan-airport consultative
    body named ‘Service Improvement Committee.’ This shows its concerted effort to provide the best service
    in the world in harmony with all airport-related entities such as airport management, Customs services,
    Immigration services, airlines, and airport tenants.

    Jaehee Lee, President & CEO of IIAC, attending the ceremony, said “the two-year consecutive top ranking
    in the worldwide airport service is the result of efforts of 30,000 airport employees who did their best to
    continue providing and improving a customer-oriented service while not being satisfied with their first-place
    honor of the previous year,” adding “the airport will make its utmost to make sure the continued provision of
    a great service in more a creative manner going forward.”
