Honorary Ambassador for Incheon Airport
World Best Conductor Meets World Best Airport
The world-renowned conductor Chung Myung-whun was appointed as an Honorary Ambassador for Incheon Airport during a service at the Airport’s passenger terminal on June 22.
A Korean-born maestro musician who is highly honored around the world as well as being greatly loved by Koreans, Chung has continuously extended his fame across the world. Also, his most recent project, during which he donated his talent by giving ‘traveling concerts’ to a wide audience, is once again inviting the admiration of the Korean people.
Appointing Chung as an Honorary Ambassador for the Airport, President and CEO of the Airport C.W.Lee, commented that, “Maestro Chung Myung-whun, who is creating outstanding performances across the world, and Incheon Airport which is leading the global airport industry resemble each other in that they are both contributing to elevate the national prestige of Korea.” He continued, “Incheon Airport is particularly loved as a ‘Cultureport’, which is filled with the spirit of culture and art all year round, and we hope to strengthen our cultural commitment by appointing a Maestro of classical music as an Honorary Ambassador to represent us.”
Chung will serve as an Honorary Ambassador for 3 years, and is expected to play a key role in enhancing the status of Incheon Airport, especially in Europe and America where he is well known.
Along with Mr. Chung, other renowned professionals from diverse fields such as Soprano singer Jo Su-mi, figure skater Kim Yu-na, photographer Kim Joong-man, and professional golfer Choi Kyung-Ju were also appointed as Honorary Ambassadors and have been active in promoting the Airport.
