Incheon Airport Shares Business Expertise with Bangladesh in Airport Development

Transferring Upscale Techniques for the Country’s New Airport Project…
An Opportunity for a Continuous Collaboration in the Future

Incheon Airport shares its business expertise with Bangladesh.

On August 21, the Airport signed a contract to provide a consulting service to Bangladesh’s New Airport Development Project after winning the bid at the ‘2012 Economic Development Knowledge Sharing Project (KSP) for Policy Consulting to Bangladesh’ organized by Korea Development Institute (KDI).

The KSP Program, launched by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and organized by KDI, is committed to help developing countries achieve successful results in economic growth by transferring Korean experience in development, as a way of contributing back to the international community which provided Korea with great assistance in building economic success after the Korean War via development aid from international organizations and countries.

By signing the contract, the Airport will be providing consulting services to Bangladesh as the country is both developing a new airport in Bangabandhu and improving the existing Dhaka International Airport. Also, as part of the contract, a group of government officials and airport staff will be invited to share the business expertise of Incheon Airport, in order to establish a collaborative relationship around airport development.

Mr. Golam Mohammad Quader, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism in Bangladesh, commented that, “The project of building a new airport is a very important national interest to us, and via the KSP Program, we hope to share the experience and business expertise of Incheon Airport which has been named as the World’s Best Airport for seven consecutive years. Incheon Airport is the right business partner for us.”

President and CEO of the Airport C.W. Lee remarked, “This marks the beginning of exporting the Airport’s business expertise to Bangladesh and we believe that this will create a starting point for establishing continuous business cooperation in airport industry between the two countries.”
