1. Check-in

You can use Incheon airport, which is enormous enough, more conveniently when you have recognized the location of the counter.
Moreover, if you want to confirm the location of the check-in counter after arriving at the airport,
you can check it on the Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) - displaying real-tiem flight information - at the departure floor!
Since Incheon airport has been crowded with a number of passenger, so we recommend arriving at the airport 3 hours before departure.
2) Self check-in/bag drop service
You can use self check-in/bag drop serviec by following steps!
Scan your boarding pass/passport > drop the baggage > examine baggage check-in regulations > attach the baggage tag > issue the receipt
In case of personal visa or document confirmation requirement, self check-in/bag drop service might not be available depending on airlines or routes.
For this reason, please contact the airline you use in advance. 😊
Self check-in/bag drop service is only for the luggages, which are lesss than 90cm in length.
In addition, you have to lay down your luggages one by one at a time.
If your bag has a long strap or is too light, there are provided tubs that you can use!

3) Web/mobile check-in
You can also conveniently check in before arriving at the airport by using the web/mobile check-in service!
However, some airlines may not support the service, so please ask to your airline!
2. Preparation before departure

Before departure, it would be great to manage currency exchange, roaming, and travel insurance.
Here are some tips for preparing departure at Incheon Airport!
1) Currency exchange
You can apply for currency exchange in advance and pick it up at the airport.
But also, it is possible to do currency exchange right at the airport.
There are various currency exchange centers at Incheon Airport, as well as bank service counters including KB Kookmin, Woori, and Hana.
2) Roaming
When traveling abroad, you should not forget the mobile roaming, which is available for 24 hours a day!

3. Security Check

If you have completed check-in and boarding procedures, you must undergo a security check at the departure hall to depart!

1) Smart security check

If you use smart security check, you do not have to take electronic devices, such as laptops or tablets, out of your bag!
Smart security check is located at departure hall 3 of Terminal 1 and proceeds with the following steps.
Put your belongings in the lower basket > Push the basket forward > Move forward after the basket is inserted
2) General security check
General security check is conducted under the guidance of security guard and proceeds with the following steps.
Present your passport/boarding pass to the security guard > Put your belongings such as bags in a separate basket (electronic devices such as laptops and tablets)
> Pass through the round detector according to the security guard's instructions
4. Departure Screening

Almost there! The last step is the departure screening. After completing it, you are allowed to move to the boarding gate.
Please note that after the departure screening procedure, you will enter the duty-free area, where it is difficult to return to the general one.
1) Automatic Immigration Screening
You can first register at the registration center for automatic immigration screening.
Since the locations are different between each terminal, we recommend you to familiarize yourself with the following information and register in advance!

Location: 3rd floor, opposite H check-in counter, Terminal 1 (near departure gate 4)
Terminal 2

Operating hours: 07:00~18:00 (Open all year round)

Location: 2nd floor, Immigration Service Center, The Ministry of Justice, Terminal 2
The screening procedure is as follows.
Enter when the green arrow changes > Open your passport photo page and scan it on the reader for 2~3 seconds > Enter when the door opens
> Scan your fingerprint on the scanner > Look at the front camera
2) Manned departure screening
Manned departure screening is a method, that a general screening officer conducts departure screening, and proceeds as follows.
Wait in line in front of the departure inspection counter (remove hats and sunglasses while waiting, Avoid talking on phone)
> Present passport to the immigration officer > After the inspection is completed, pass through the departure inspection counter
5. Visit the boarding gate
